New engine bosses at Renault and Mercedes

11/12/2012

Renault has appointed Arnaud Boulanger as its new Director of Motorsport, taking over the role from Jean-Pascal Dauce.

The role will see the Frenchman work across Formula One and junior formulae where he will rely on experienced gained from his two decade long motor sport career. Joining Renault Sport in 1992 he enjoyed stints with Benetton during the mid-to-late 1990's.

Boulanger's announcement comes on the same day that Mercedes announced that in January Andy Cowell will take over as managing director of Mercedes High Performance Powertrains, the group which manages the marque's Formula One engine programme. Cowell replaces Thomas Fuhr who is leaving motor sport.
