Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) has announced that Yoshiaki Kinoshita has moved from his position as Executive Vice President to President, replacing John Howett who takes an advisory function after almost eight years in the role.

Howett, a graduate of Loughborough College of Technology. joined Toyota in the late 1970s, initially co-ordinating the rally team's service and preparation operations alongside Ove Andersson.

After long spells with Toyota (GB) Ltd, Toyota Motor Marketing Europe (TMME) and various other important roles within the company, Howett took over as president of Toyota Motorsport in 2003.

Pitpass understands that Mr Howett will continue in an advisory capacity.
