Feature race shortened

26/06/2010

This afternoon's feature race in Valencia will be two laps shorter than previously planned to avoid any potential problems arising from excess fuel consumption during the event.

The fast, technical circuit is already one of the most marginal tracks on the calendar for fuel consumption, and with temperatures rising the GP2 series organisers decided to take a conservative approach and shorten the race so as to minimise the risk of cars running out of fuel.

The race will now run for 30 laps, or 60 minutes.
