F1 live timing App goes No. 1

NEWS STORY
12/03/2010

The 2010 version of SoftPauer's F1 live timing application for the iPhone and iTouch is the best selling sporting application for these devices in ten countries including the UK.

The App, introduced in 2009, has undergone a radical overhaul over the winter and at £19.99 for the entire 2010 season is tremendous value for the dedicated F1 fan who seeks to enhance their Grand Prix weekend experience.

As in 2009, the new version of the App is the only way for fans to enjoy a full bird's eye view of the entire track in real time, and follow the relative positions of the whole field from lights off to chequered flag.

Once again, the data is provided exclusively live from the official Formula One timing information system, and converted to a stunning graphically rich re-creation of the circuit.

New for 2010 are:

Refined user friendly features such as one-touch zooming in and out from your favourite driver, and self-centring to ensure the driver you are following is shown in the middle of your screen.

German and French versions for the whole season, with Spanish, and Italian to soon follow.

Written live commentary by professional F1 journalists in all five languages

In its debut season, the Application was chosen by Apple as one of the best 25 Apps of the year, and made the top of the best-selling sports Apps charts in over 15 countries. All these extra features which contributed to its success in 2009 will be continued this year and are already proving successful with the App going Number One in ten countries including the UK.

The F1 Live timing and track positioning App offers fans:

Ability to see the live timing screens used by the teams themselves.

Ability to replay any session at any time you choose, and jump forwards and backwards to key points of the action.

Ability to focus on the driver of your choice.

News and information on race circuits, teams, drivers, results, standings and much more.

The App, which is used by the Pitpass team for its coverage - the ability to replay the race proving invaluable, as is the ability to know the precise positioning of drivers during the pit stops - is a must for fans who want to enhance their GP weekend experience, be they at the track, on the sofa or down the pub.

The App is available through the iTunes App store.
