German media reports Schumacher has signed with Mercedes

22/12/2009

Germany's Bild has is reporting that Michael Schumacher has signed a one-year deal with the Mercedes F1 team.

While neither Mercedes Grand Prix nor Michael Schumacher are saying anything, the German newspaper insists that Schumacher signed the deal at the team's Brackley HQ today.

If the report is correct, the German, who is understood to be receiving 7 million euros for the season, will team up again with Ross Brawn, the man with whom he won all his titles, having worked with the Englishman at Benetton then again at Ferrari.

The deal would see Schumacher partner Nico Rosberg, giving Mercedes, which last raced in F1 in its own right in 1955, an all-German line-up.
