Stefan GP remains focussed on F1 entry

07/12/2009

Stefan Grand Prix, the Serbian outfit that has complained to the European Commission regarding the selection process for new teams in 2010, insists that its aim of entering F1 remains fully on target.

In recent weeks, there has been speculation linking the team - spearheaded by industrialist Zoran Stefanovic and his AMCO company - with Toyota, however, that particular avenue appeared to close when the Japanese outfit's grid slot was given to Sauber.

Stefanovic (seen here with Toyota's John Howett) remains confident however, saying that the "FIA will eventually green-light the SGP team entry" in the Formula 1 Championship.

Referring to the decision to give Toyota's entry to Sauber, Stefan GP has expressed "satisfaction" at the move which will see the Swiss team line-up on the grid next season. "All at SGP congratulate Peter Sauber and the Sauber Formula 1 team," said Stefanovic.

Meanwhile, looking ahead, the Serbian outfit is in the process of hiring personnel for its operation, with a whole range of jobs being advertised on its website.

While the team points out that "some posts will be located in Germany and the rest of team will be located in Belgrade", it is worth noting that potential employees will have a "slight advantage" if they are "ex-Toyota F1".
