Either way, already 2.5s off the pace of timesheet topper Jenson Button, Hamilton has added to his team's frustration by going off during this afternoon's session at the Circuit de Catalunya.

The World Champion was going up the hill after Turn 1, when he "went off, took off and hit the wall", according to Pitpass snapper Joanne Burnett.
