Looks like rain in Germany

NEWS STORY
16/07/2008

Just two weeks after weather conditions shook up the World Championship, with Lewis Hamilton, Nick Heidfeld and Rubens Barrichello giving a master-class in how it should be done in the wet, weather forecasters are predicting an equally damp German Grand Prix.

It was in Britain (where else?) where the typical Summer weather conditions appeared to confirm that Hamilton is the new rain-master, with the McLaren driver giving a bravura performance that saw him lap most of the field - including title rival Kimi Raikkonen - and finish over a minute ahead of second placed Heidfeld.

The German, no slouch himself in the wet, also reigned supreme pulling off two double overtaking manoeuvres that will be talked about on message boards for some time, while Rubens Barrichello, previously thought to be nearing the end of his F1 career, stepped up to the podium for the first time since 2006.

No doubt all three, and Kimi Raikkonen, providing Ferrari's tacticians can get it right this time, will be hoping that the weather forecasters are correct, for with rain predicted for both Saturday and Sunday - just like Silverstone - we could be in for more thrills and spills, and some further edge-of-your-seat performances.
