Michael Schumacher is to contest the Race of Champions (ROC) when it leaves Paris and heads to Wembley later this year.

The 7-time world Champion has been confirmed as leading Germany's team when the event takes place in London on December 16.

Schumacher previously took part in the event in 2004 when he was beaten by Finnish sensation Heikki Kovalainen, who is now driving for the Renault F1 team.

According to the organizers are already taking place with World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton, while Jenson Button and David Coulthard are already confirmed. Two-time World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx and British rallying legend Colin McRae are also signed for the 2007 event.

"I enjoyed the atmosphere, both with the other drivers and in the stadium where the fans seemed to clearly enjoy themselves," said Schumacher, who is also keen to highlight the charitable work done through Race of Champions.

"I hope that my participation can help the event organisers raise even more funds and awareness for ICM (the Institute for Cerebral and Medullary Disorders), which I'm one of the founder members of andthat The Race of Champions is now supporting for the fourth year."
