The 2010 F1 Korean Grand Prix Promoting Committee held its launch today in Seoul, with the participation of various Korean leaders

The committee will support the Jeollanam-do Provincial Government, the region in which the Korean GP will be held, and Korea Auto Valley Operation (KAVO), the official Formula One promoter.

The committee will encourage the preparation for the of 2010 Korean GP, and will collaborate with the central government, the National Assembly and other authorized organizations.

Joon Yung Park (Governor of Jeollanam-do), Yung Cho Chung(CEO of KAVO), and many other Korean leaders attended the launch of committee.

The main committee members are 6 Congressmen, including Mr. Hyuk Kyu Kim (Senior Congressman, Major Ruling Party), Mr. Jong Min Kim (CEO of Korea Tourism Organization), Mr. Ki Hwa Hong (President of Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency), Mr. Jung Chae Kang (President of Jeonnam University), Mr. Jae Cheol Kim (Secretary General of Korea Sports Council and Korea Olympic Committee), and Mr. Junho Jung (Actor and Formula One PR Ambassador).

Governor Park called for the full commitment of members to trigger development not only for the province but also for the whole nation as F1 will bring the country great opportunities for leisure, sport and car-related industries. He also said that the F1's "pulling power" will help the region escalate sustainable economic and cultural development.

Mr. Hyuk Kyu Kim (Senior Congressman) has been elected as the first Chairman of the committee. He said: "Hosting a Grand Prix is essential to develop the province and raise the global awareness of the nation" and emphasized the importance of "Special Act" that is in the enactment process of National Assembly.

Special Act has been prepared for more functional and systematic support for 2010 Formula One Korean Grand Prix.

Korea looks forwards to a wider range of governmental and public backing from the Promoting Committee.
