In a statement issued by the Fuji International Speedway today, the organizers of next year's Japan Grand Prix admit that they are hoping for up to 280,000 visitors of the race weekend, with 140,000 attending the race.

Various initiatives, including 'park and ride', three levels of ticket price, and even wheelchair facilities, will encourage first time race fans as well as die-hards.

"It is hoped that holding the event at Fuji Speedway which is located in a rich natural setting with views of the majestic Mount Fuji, will help to popularize motor sports among people from a wide range of backgrounds and will make a contribution to the local community," read the statement.

Fuji International Speedway is owned by Toyota, whereas, since 1987 the race has been held at (Honda owned) Suzuka.
