Brawn to review his future in mid-2007

Speaking at Monza, where he is attending the 2006 Ferrari World Finals, the event which marks the end of the Italian company's racing season, Ross Brawn has said that his relationship is not necessarily over.

Despite announcing earlier this week that he is to take some time out, away from Formula One, the Englishman says that he will meet with the Italian team next year to see if he wishes to return, thereby confirming that rather than total retirement he is looking at a sabbatical.

"In the middle of the year, we will have a meeting to discuss how I feel about my sabbatical and how they feel about how the team is running and if it will be possible for me to play a part in it in its future," he said. "I just feel I need to have a little break to recharge my batteries and also to give some other guys an opportunity to show what they can do when they are given full responsibility."

Prior to guiding Ferrari to guiding Ferrari and Michael Schumacher to 11 World Championship titles, Brawn had lead the German to his first two titles with Benetton.

There is widespread speculation that having recharged his batteries, Brawn will return to take over from Jean Todt as Ferrari team boss.

In the meantime, there is some fishing to be done, music to be listened to and soccer matches to watch.
