What was that Nick?

NEWS STORY
25/04/2006

Speaking in the wake of his team's nightmare performance at San Marino, team boss Nick Fry told reporters at the post-race media debrief that lessons would be learned and acted upon.

"There is no need for heads to roll," he said, most likely referring to chief mechanic, Alistair Gibson, who was not only at the centre of Sunday's debacle, but also played a key role in the fuel tank saga at Imola in 2005.

Then again, Fry could have been referring to himself: "I'm a big boy," he admitted. "I've had 30 years in the motor industry and sometimes it gets tough.

"The momentum is there," he declared, "we just need a few things to go right for us. Which isn't happening at the moment."

There is already speculation that should Honda fail to achieve some degree of success this season, Fry's will be the first head on the chopping block. Pat Symonds comments at the weekend, together with Sunday's fiasco will have done little to help.

However, considering that Honda is understood to have already spent £100m in its efforts to win the title with Jenson Button, one particular comment of Fry's leaps out.

"There are times when the bosses really do need to hold their heads up," said the Englishman. "These are the times when you earn your money."

Does this mean that Nick is admitting that up until now certain people haven't been giving 100 percent?
