Bernie Ecclestone today continued his tour of the sites bidding to host Turkey's first Grand Prix.

The F1 supremo arrived in Izmir early this morning and was reportedly in an excellent mood as he met with officials and visited the proposed site for the circuit.

Bernie said that he was 'very impressed' with Izmir's proposal, and told journalists at a press conference that although a Turkish GP is 99% certain, a final decision concerning the venue will be made in a couple of months.

"We will announce our decision on the venue of the Turkish Grand Prix in a couple of months," he explained.

"There is a tremendous interest for this organisation here in Turkey."

Although Bernie boosted Istanbul's hopes of staging a round of the F1 championship yesterday he admitted that he will take the views of the public in to account when deciding which city will be chosen.

"We have not come to a decision on this issue, we have to think about that," he admitted when made aware of a recent poll that saw Izmir voted the most popular site for a Grand Prix.

Ecclestone told representatives of the Turkish Motorsports Federation that he would like to bring his wife back to the country for a holiday next year, but hinted that he will return to Izmir in the not too distant future.
