Button in talks with Jaguar?

NEWS STORY

Jenson Button reportedly paid a visit to the Jaguar Racing factory earlier this week, for a meeting with team boss Niki Lauda.

The 22-year-old Englishman has been linked to a move to the Milton-Keynes based outfit for some time, and British newspaper The Sun reports that Jenson flew from his home in Monaco to meet with Lauda on Tuesday.

Button has said that he is keen to remain with Renault for next season, but is clearly keeping his options open.

"Jenson is very happy at Renault but he still has to look at all the other opportunities that may be open to him," a source commented.

"Jaguar were the ones who phoned Jenson and he felt it was only right to listen to what they had to say.

"The team outlined their plans and made it clear that they would like to have further talks should an opening arise."

Jaguar is currently thought to be considering signing a number of drivers for next season, should it choose to change the current lineup of Irvine and de la Rosa. Fernando Alonso tested for the team last month, while Minardi star Mark Webber is set to get behind the wheel of the R3 next Friday.
