Using new bargeboards.
1. Michael Schumacher
Sunday: Did two runs in spare before taking race car which stopped out on circuit with hydraulic failure. Took spare for the race. Straight into lead at start, steadily opened up lead to brother Ralf, 21s when pit stops began. Stopped on lap 26 in 9.4s and was then 23s ahead of second placed Montoya after Ralf pit stop. Stopped again on lap 47 in 8.2s and was then 42s ahead of Montoya. Won troublefree race by 25s. 1st
Saturday: Made aerodynamic and ride height changes in qualifying to bring car closer in spec to Rubens's. Made small mistakes in first two runs but got it right in final run when wind favourable. 1st/1m 16.364s
Friday: Fastest in morning and afternoon session. Had brief off at Elf in afternoon but rejoined. Happy with tyre comparisons and performance. 1st/1m 20.380s
2. Rubens Barrichello
Sunday: Fastest in warm-up; car well balanced. Couldn't select first gear off the grid for the formation lap caused by electrical problem. Did not start.
Saturday: Fastest time in morning session. Upset by dirt on track at turn nine during second run, then found wind more favourable. Too quick on final 'out' lap and so tyre temperatures not right. 2nd/1m 16.690s
Friday: Ran three sets of tyres, and happy with comparisons. Not completely happy with set-up. 4th/1m 20.742s
West McLaren Mercedes
3. David Coulthard
Sunday: Used worn tyres with heavy fuel load for warm-up. Stayed in sixth place at the start, moving up to fifth when teammateRaikkonen retired. Pitted late on lap 29 in 9.0s, rejoining right behind Button. Overtook Renault into first corner on lap 34. Pitted again for tyres on lap 46 in 7.8s, rejoining in third. 3rd
Saturday: Reported much improved balance with more rubber on track. Changed set-up after second run and had to abort third run due to understeer in turn three. Reverted to original set-up for final run but lost time in second sector and didn't improve. 7th/1m 17.662s
Friday: Problem with front end restricted laps in morning session. Fined $1000 for pit lane speeding in the afternoon. Unable to get consistent balance from car, particularly in comparison to pre-season testing. 12th/1m 21.298s
4. Kimi Raikkonen
Sunday: Also on worn tyres with full fuel load for warm-up. Stayed in fourth place at start, but rear wing failed on lap four as crossed the start/finish line. Retired

Friday: Struggled initially to find good set-up, but then made considerable improvements in second session. 7th/1m 20.996s

5. Ralf Schumacher
Sunday: Said car felt nervous on the limit in warm-up, but thought could alter set-up to improve it. Quickly into second place but left behind by brother Michael and 21s behind when pitted on 24 for 8.2s. Challenged by teammate Montoya for two laps, but then went wide, off circuit on lap 29, and damaged nose section, needing new one in pit stop on lap 29 in 28.3s, longer because dithering with left front wheel. Thereafter ran 13th to third pit stop on lap 40 when nose section changed to different specification. Pushed by Salo in last ten laps, but pulled off with engine failure on lap 64. Retired but classified 11th
Saturday: Car changed a lot overnight. Reported that he found car better balanced after set-up changes and with more rubber on circuit. Happy with tyres. 3rd/1m 17.277s
Friday: Not suited to track, as expected. Problems with set-up and getting good balance. Not found right tyre either. 15th/1m 21.409s
6. Juan Pablo Montoya
Sunday: Made set-up changes and adjusted tyre pressures in warm-up. Straight into third off the grid, relatively lonely race to first pit stop in slowish 10.4s on lap 25, but soon on teammate's tail until he went off. Then in second place to second pit stop on lap 45 when left before pit stop had ended and hit chief mechanic Carl Gaden. Eventually restarted after slight delay. 2nd
Saturday: Had to switch to the T-car after suffering misfire on first run. Had to change car right up to last run which worked well. 4th/1m 17.425s
Friday: Working on set-up and trying both types of tyre, but unhappy with set-up. Still need to work on several areas. 17th/1m 21.623s
