Using F2002 for the first time at a race meeting. Has a F2001 as spare. Rubens has two F2001. Placing emphasis on set-up.

1. Michael Schumacher

Sunday: Had brief off-circuit moment out of pits in warm-up. Used both old and new car but older car a second slower. Set fastest time. Took lead in second corner and held it to 12.6s pit stop on lap 39. Retook lead when Ralf stopped five laps later, then pushed by Ralf from lap 55 to chequered flag. 1st
Saturday: Fastest in first part of morning session. Doesn't feel has full potential out of car. Accepts not upper hand in tyre war here. Had moment before turn eight on quickest lap. Saved tyres for the race. 2nd/1m 13.241s
Friday: Had spin at turn eight in morning session. Then fastest in morning session. Had brief off early in afternoon, causing Sato to spin. Then had a spin at the final corner late in the session. Ross Brawn wondered if Bridgestones were better on the dirty track in the morning. Car working well with no problems. 5th/ 1m 15.627s

2. Rubens Barrichello

Sunday: Felt still needed to make chassis adjustments after warm-up. Up two places to sixth on first lap, then overtook Coulthard on lap two, Button on lap three, Trulli on lap four and Ralf on lap six. Michael let him into lead on lap 14 but then pulled off on lap 17 with hydraulic problem. Retired
Saturday: Picked up penalty for going through red light at pit lane exit, losing fastest time. Consequently, didn't do final lap in qualifying as no point and saved tyres. Had gear selection problem in qualifying. 5 kph down on teammate's speed through speed trap. 8th/1m 13.935s
Friday: Had a puncture on installation lap, then spun after 40 minutes and stalled, so no competitive time. Had another spin at same spot in afternoon but able to rejoin. Slight traction control problem. 7th / 1m 15.933s

3. David Coulthard

Sunday: Fine tuned race set-up in warm-up. Lost places to Renaults at start, then overtaken by Barrichello on lap two, running sixth. Overtook Button on lap 17, plus Barrichello's retirement meant now in fourth place, but right behind Trulli. Stayed there to Trulli's stop on lap 43, then pitted in 10.2s on lap 45. Ran third, shadowed by teammate, to chequered flag. 3rd
Saturday: Happy with car's balance, particularly on full fuel load, but feel faster in race. 4th/1m 13.565s
Friday: Spun but rejoined after 31 minutes in morning session. Problem with traction control. Fastest in session. Very happy with Michelin rubber. 1st / 1m 15.075s

4. Kimi Raikkonen

Sunday: Polishing race set-up in warm-up. Dropped to seventh at start, then stuck behind Button from lap 13 to lap 38 when overtook into first corner. Pitted on lap 46 for 9.4s, shadowing third placed teammate until hub failure on lap 68 saw excursion at turn four. Retired but classified 12th
Saturday: Lost final part of morning session due to fuel pump failure. Then had hydraulic problem on first run in qualifying, so switched to spare car for a run, then back in race car. Stopped on circuit at the end of qualifying when team asked him to switch off engine. Feels could have done better. 5th/1m 13.595s
Friday: Spun and stalled at first corner after 28 minutes of morning session. Felt improving the car thereafter. Still room for improvement, working on handling balance. 6th/ 1m 15.883s

5. Ralf Schumacher

Sunday: Did just five laps in warm-up, with only one flying lap, saving engine mileage and tyres. Quickly into second place behind brother but overtaken by Barrichello on lap six. Held third place, then second when Barrichello retired and picked up time towards end of stint. Took over lead on lap 40 but then pitted for 9.4s on lap 44, when also made small aerodynamic adjustment. Rejoined 3.0s behind Michael, but on his tail from lap 55 to chequered flag. 2nd
Saturday: Couldn't get car set-up completely right and couldn't put together a perfect lap of all best sector times. 3rd/1m 13.328s
Friday: Not happy with car set-up but generally troublefree. Fighting understeer, however. Completed programme. Worked on race set-up, brakes with full fuel load. 4th/1m 15.477s

6. Juan Pablo Montoya
