Renault partners with LaLiga

NEWS STORY
22/02/2018

Renault and LaLiga have announced a cross-platform sports partnership that will see LaLiga become Official Football League Partner of the F1 team.

The fusion of Renault's F1 team and the premier Spanish football league, LaLiga, joins two thrilling and spectacular sporting worlds that will allow fans access to multi-layered sports entertainment across multiple platforms.

The LaLiga logo will be visible on the team's latest car as well as on the overalls of Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz.

The new partnership is part of LaLiga's strategy to expand its brand internationally and fits with the league's initiative to support other sports and athletes. For example, through LaLiga4Sports the Spanish league currently supports Javier Fernandez, the Spanish Olympic bronze medallist figure skater, and badminton champion Carolina Marin. LaLiga has also supported the Davis Cup tennis tournament and tennis star Rafael Nadal.

"We are very happy to announce this exciting and unique partnership with LaLiga, one of the world's best football divisions," said Antoine Magnan, Head of Partnerships, Renault Sport Racing. "Renault Sport Formula One Team and LaLiga have many shared goals as we push to expand our reach worldwide. Between the Formula 1 and LaLiga seasons we cover the entire year and there are cross-overs in our two fan bases that will be the springboard for exciting activities."

"We have been looking for innovative ideas that allow us to generate brand presence internationally and support our brand positioning 'It's not football. It's LaLiga.'," added Enrique Moreno, brand director, LaLiga. "Motorsports and specifically Formula 1 fits perfectly with this strategy. Formula 1 fans are potential football fans. This new, year-long relationship is designed to further expand the LaLiga audience and grow awareness for our brand."

"Methinks thou dost protest too much.

PDC and BDO are the warring darts factions.

That's another sport with no relevance to F1 that McLaren might pretend has in order to fill empty sidepod space. "

"Sorry Chris, was speaking in Sarcasm.

It reads: "What relevance does the Spanish football league have to F1?"

Still interested to find out their stance on the two darts organisations though. "

"@ White Lightning

For those of us who don't have a clue about cricket, can we please have that last post in English."

"Now for their Official Cricket Partner. Will they be seduced by the cash of the IPL, go for the solidly outstanding cricket of the Big Bash or throw its weight behind the potential of the new English T20 league?

And are they PDC or BDO?"
