Mercedes drivers at odds over Hungary

NEWS STORY

As battle resumes, Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have differing views on Hungary and its aftermath.

It might be three weeks ago, but events on and off track in Hungary continue to dominate as the Mercedes duo prepares for the run-in to the 2014 title.

Speaking at the official press conference, Rosberg attempted to play down the situation which saw Hamilton ordered to move aside for the German, a move - even though ignored by the Briton, who claimed his teammate was never close enough to pass without costing him time as he fought his way through the field after starting from the pitlane - for which the team subsequently apologised.

"I gather it was a bit of a mess afterwards, after Hungary, so it's best I don't add too much, I think, and I continue to not give too many details," the German told the media. "In general, of course, we discussed it after the race because it's important to review a situation like that and know how to move forward.

"Now we're moving forward," he continued, but, of course, I have also learned various things from that race which I will try to adapt for the future."

Elsewhere, teammate Hamilton was a little more forthcoming.

"There wasn't a discussion," he said, referring to talk of a post-Hungary 'clear the air meeting'. "I don't know what Nico has said but we haven't all sat down together as yet. I'm not particularly sure it needs to happen. But if there is any unclear air, it will be cleared before the weekend starts, that's for sure.

"I've come here quite clear on what is to be done and needs to be done, and I feel quite comfortable with how the team has reacted and the decision they have made," he continued. "It's very clear for me. I'm not sure it's the same for the other side."
