Rosberg vs Hamilton - The battle for the Championship

NEWS STORY
18/08/2014

"The Bookies are never wrong" is an infamous saying, crediting the bookmakers ability to decide a favourite, or to shun an underdog. Very rarely are they faced with a situation in which they can't split a winner. Step forward the 2014 Driver's Championship. Lewis Hamilton vs Nico Rosberg. Both best priced at odds of evens. Game on.

With such a close contest between two contrasting personalities and styles, Formula One fans look set for a treat in the second half of the 2014 season and what should be a thrilling finale.

The aspect that makes this duel so fascinating is that both drivers have strengths and weaknesses that almost cancel each other out. Hamilton is undoubtedly the more ruthless when it comes to overtaking, ultimately faster over one lap, and crucially has experience of a championship win in 2008. Despite this he is extremely temperamental and has the potential to make rash decisions. He has also suffered from more bad fortune than Rosberg this season, posing the question - are the F1 Gods against him?

In contrast Rosberg is known for his excellent temperament. His ability to maximise his potential and not be restricted by the enormity of the situation means he is excellently suited for the pressure cooker of the Drivers' Championship. What Rosberg lacks however is the killer instinct that makes Hamilton so dangerous. He is far less likely than his rival to come through the field and set record times, and at times displays little flair - something a true champion undoubtedly needs. Another setback for Rosberg is that he has never lifted the Drivers' Championship trophy before. Will that lack of experience cost him?

Rosberg won the opening race in Australia, where betting on the pokies is generally more popular than F1. Hamilton then went on to win the next four races before Rosberg won arguably the flagship race of the F1 calendar - the Monaco Grand Prix. Monaco is best known for itss casinos, and the French can play at www.vegascasinofrancais.fr.

In conclusion it becomes clear that it is far too hard to pick a winner in this one. But not to worry as it is you, the fan, that is the winner. It's over to you now, sit back relax and watch the finale phase of this engrossing championship.
