Red Bull drivers escape plan

15/03/2013

Red Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel failed to complete the mandatory cockpit-escape test ahead of today's opening day of practice.

All drivers must complete the mandatory test, during which they must demonstrate they can exit the car within five seconds and lift their knees within the cockpit.

Team boss Christian Horner was unconcerned. "Maybe the car wasn't quite ready," he shrugged. "Sebastian's walking around in his overalls ready to do it."

Though not completed yesterday with the rest of the pit lane, both Webber and Vettel simply need to complete the test ahead of today's opening practice session.
