Ascanelli joins Brembo

04/02/2013

Former Toro Rosso Technical Director, Giorgio Ascanelli is joining the Brembo Group as Chief Technical Officer, heading up the company's Advanced Research and Technical Development departments.

Ascanelli has long experience in motor racing, having begun his career in 1985 with the mechanical engineering staff of Ferrari. He went on to work for Abarth, Benetton and McLaren, before becoming Technical Director first with Maserati Corse in 2002, and then with Toro Rosso from 2007 to 2012.

With the arrival of Ascanelli, Brembo is looking to give fresh impetus into the company and bring new skills to an area of activity that has always been its main engine, while at the same time also sending out a strong signal of continuity to the market. Indeed it is precisely through steady investments in R&D that Brembo has always managed to offer ultra high performance products that are at the leading edge of technology. In the coming years, Brembo will need to come up with radically innovative projects to ensure that the engineering side evolves in line with the company's best traditions, while also responding to the new demands of the automotive industry.
