Date change for Goodwood

07/12/2012

Organisers of the Goodwood Festival of Speed have announced that they have had to change the date of the 2013 event following the decision to move the date of the German Grand Prix.

Originally scheduled for the weekend of 5/7 July, the same date as the rearranged race at Hockenheim, Festival organisers are now seeking an alternative date that will fit in with the plans of those (F1) teams and drivers who wish to attend. However, this will in turn be affected by the countless other participants who were scheduled for the original Festival date.

"Given that the Festival of Speed is the only event in the world outside of a World Championship Grand Prix where you can get a close up view of the latest F1 cars and drivers in action, we will now have to change the Festival's date in order to avoid this conflict with the amended Grand Prix calendar," said organisers in a statement.

"Goodwood is now reviewing the 2013 Festival of Speed dates and will confirm these very soon. We apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause, but sadly this is outside of Goodwood's control."

Tickets already purchased will be valid for the new event dates, while Festival tickets remain on sale via the Goodwood Ticket Office (+44 (0)1243 755055).
