Perez to miss Indian GP?

25/10/2012

Hit by a heavy cold which has forced him to cancel his media duties, there is concern that Sergio Perez may be ruled out of this weekend's Indian Grand Prix.

As the Swiss outfit seeks to close the gap to Mercedes, whilst fending off Force India, it faces making a decision as to whether Perez is fit enough to take part in the Friday practice sessions.

With the 22-year-old forced to pull out of his media commitments today, it is understood that reserve Esteban Gutierrez, who is believed to be on the verge of agreeing a deal to race for the team next season, has been put on standby.

In his debut season, Perez, who moves to McLaren next season, was forced to withdraw from the Canadian Grand Prix after just one practice session, the Mexican still feeling the after effects of his heavy crash at Monaco two weeks earlier.
