Kubica wins on rally return (with video)

11/09/2012

After some eighteen months away from competitive motor sport, Robert Kubica was back behind the wheel at the weekend.

Taking part in the Ronde Gomitolo di Lana rally in Italy, the 27-year-old took to the wheel of a Subaru WRC car.

Ahead of the weekend he'd labelled the event the next step on his continued rehabilitation from injuries sustained last year, confirming that he remains fully focussed on a return to Formula One.

Kubica set the fastest time in all four stages on his way to winning the event by more than a minute, with some stunning onboard video (here) clearly showing the former Grand Prix winner has lost none of his ability.
