Button seeks inspiration from McLaren GT success

Looking ahead to this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, Jenson Button admits to being inspired by the recent success of the McLaren GT car which scored its first win recently.

Following the Fred Makowiecki/Stef Dusseldorp, Gregoire Demoustier/Alvaro Parente 1-2 in the GT1 World Championship qualifying race at Navarra, Makowiecki and Dusseldorp went on to win the main race the following day.

Perhaps looking ahead to his post-F1 career, Button, admitted to being inspired by the MP4 12's first racing successes.

"It's very different obviously to Formula One," he said, "but those guys have been working very, very hard for the whole season to get it competitive, so yeah, it's great that McLaren have had two back-to-back victories in Navarra last weekend."
