Pay boost for Brundle

20/02/2012

It's claimed that Martin Brundle's move from BBC to Sky Sports has seen the former racer's salary more than double.

Writing in the Daily Mail, Charles Sale claims that Brundle is to earn around £1m a year as lynchpin of the broadcaster's Formula One coverage. However, he suggests that the BBC, where the Englishman earned £600,000 a year before jumping ship, claims Brundle's Sky salary is nearer to £1.3m.

A number of other star names left the BBC with Brundle to form the Sky team, most notably Ted Kravitz, the ever popular pitlane reporter, while 1996 world champion, Damon Hill is to provide "expert analysis" throughout the season.

Sky Sports dedicated F1 channel is due to launch on March 8, while those without will have to wait until mid-April, the Chinese Grand Prix, for the first live race on the BBC.
