Hamilton spokesman denies Red Bull link

A spokesman for Lewis Hamilton has denied claims that the English driver is in talks with Red Bull.

As the Austrian outfit continues to be the team to beat, a number of drivers have been linked with it, even though it is widely regarded as Sebastian Vettel's team.

On Saturday evening in Montreal, Hamilton was spotted talking to Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, their fifteen minute chat leading to claims that the 2008 world champion is considering a move when his contract with McLaren ends at the end of 2012.

A spokesman for Simon Fuller's XIX Entertainment company, which manages Hamilton, was quick to deny the claims telling the BBC: "Neither Lewis nor his management team have had any discussions with regard to moving team."

The English driver has had a torrid time of it lately and more than once his frustration with his car - and the stewards - has risen to the surface.

Although he has been with McLaren since he was 13, having famously first approached Ron Dennis when he was 8, Hamilton needs to be with a team with which he can win further titles. At present, Red Bull appears to be the best bet, though, on current form, its Woking rivals offer the biggest threat.

While Hamilton grabs the headlines for the wrong reasons, it is widely thought he needs a team (and management company) that keeps him honest, there are very few out there that could do that. Williams used to be… but not any longer.

Other than Red Bull, Hamilton's only other realistic option is Ferrari, but there his old mate Fernando Alonso is under contract until the middle of the next century.

While the 2008 champ continues to grow more and more frustrated his team is working flat-out to ensure that he and his teammate have the equipment that will allow them to take the fight to Red Bull.

What he really needs right now, other than a winning car, is a soothing hand to reassure him when he's down and calm him down when he's raging... Helmut Marko doesn't fit that particular bill.
