Barcelona to host final pre-season test

21/02/2011

At a meeting in Barcelona this afternoon, the teams have agreed that following the cancellation of the Bahrain GP and test session, the final pre-season test will now take place at Barcelona between March 8 - 11.

The final test of the year was scheduled to take place in Bahrain between March 3 - 6, just one week before the season opening Grand Prix, but this has been cancelled, along with the race, due to the political unrest in the country.

While this means that the team will miss out on the extreme heat of the desert - ideal preparations for those races taking place during the summer - there is every likelihood that there will be an opportunity in Spain for further wet testing.
