Having hosted its first event at the weekend, during which Karun Chandhok got to driver 16 laps in a Red Bull, Bernie Ecclestone insists that the Korean International Circuit will be ready for next month's race.

As the inaugural event draws ever near, there has been continuous speculation as to the circuit's state of readiness, indeed, last week the FIA admitted that it was having to break its own rules in terms of the date of the track's final inspection.

Speaking to Germany's Bild, Ecclestone insists that the circuit will be ready and the race will go ahead, even if the facilities - certainly as far as the teams are concerned - are far from complete.

"There are problems but we assume that the race can take place," he said. "The circuit is definitely ready, but as for all the buildings, perhaps not... we may have to put up some tents."

Over the course of the weekend, Chandhok admitted that while the team garages are huge most of them are not yet complete, indeed, while the plumbing is in place many of the pipes are not actually connected to anything, the Indian revealing that some teams might actually have to bring their own kitchen sinks.

Aside from the Grand Prix, organizers at the circuit are already looking ahead to the track's second big event, the international Korea Formula 3 Superprix, which will tae place in late November.
