Although Ferrari will not appeal against the World Motor Sport Council's decision not to penalise McLaren, despite being "satisfied" that the Woking team had been in possession of the Italian outfit's confidential information and had therefore breached article 151c of the International Sporting Code, the Maranello team has not ruled out other legal options that might be available to it.

With there being no right to appeal the decision of the WMSC, a Ferrari spokesman has told the BBC that the team is "evaluating all possible options".

Although the spokesman didn't go into specifics, it is thought that at a time when it is pushing ahead with legal cases in Italy and the UK, Ferrari could lodge a complaint against its British rivals with the public prosecution service in Modena. The cases in Britain and Italy involve Mike Coughlan and Nigel Stepney, the two men at the heart of the saga that has rocked the sport in the last month.
