Ralf to shake down TF107 today

NEWS STORY
09/01/2007

It's understood that Ralf Schumacher will carry out a shakedown of Toyota's 2007 contender, the TF107, later today.

The German is expected to take to the track at Paul Ricard for a systems check, just days ahead of the official launch, which takes place in Cologne on Friday.

Much is expected of the Japanese team this year, following its failure to capitalise on the improvement made in 2005. Many F1 insiders are surprised that the Cologne based outfit has opted to retain both Schumacher and Jarno Trulli, both of whom appeared to be going through the motions in 2006.

There are some who believe that another disappointing season could lead to Toyota reconsidering its F1 project, especially with strong competition expected from Williams, which will use the Japanese team's powerplants.
