Toyota 'Young Drivers' make progress

Kazuki Nakajima, who competed in the 2006 F3 Euro series, and has been selected as a test driver for the WilliamsF1 team, also plans to participate in the 2007 GP2 season with the DAMS team.

In addition, Kohei Hirate, who also competed in the F3 Euro series this year, plans to race in the GP2 series for the Trident team.

Meanwhile, Kamui Kobayashi, winner of the rookie title in the 2006 F3 Euro series, plans to compete in the series for a second year as a part of the ASM Formula 3 team.

Both Hirate and Kobayashi will be given F1 tests with the Toyota F1 team, though no dates have been arranged.

The aim of the Toyota Young Drivers Program (TDP) is to identify and cultivate new talent, to foster drivers who hope to compete in top racing categories, in Japan and throughout the world.
