Laguna Seca Preview: Team Brazil

The competition is intensifying in the A1 Grand Prix of Nations as teams head to the Laguna Seca Raceway in California, which plays host to the penultimate round of the World Cup of Motorsport.

A1 Team Brasil arrives in Laguna Seca lying in fourth place in the championship, just three points behind Team Great Britain. Brasil's Christian Fittipaldi will undertake driving duties for the team this weekend, and is determined to regain third in the table for the squad.

Christian is no stranger to the 3.602km circuit, which is close to Los Angeles. In fact, he is a seasoned veteran, having raced there eight times previously, plus racking up many more testing miles. It is a challenging anti-clockwise circuit, and features the fearsome, undulating 'Corkscrew' turn, plus an infield section. Having a previous best finish at Laguna Seca of second, this time Christian is determined to go for the win.

Christian Fittipaldi: "I think this weekend should be good. Overall, our performance in Mexico was stronger than in Indonesia, despite the results. The programme was better and we were more competitive so I have every reason to believe this weekend we can make even more progress. I have a lot of experience at Laguna Seca, I raced here every year from 1995 to 2002, and also tested a lot too. I heard that the Corkscrew has changed a little since then but I don't think it will be too different. This weekend we will try to finish on the podium and I really want to try to win one of the two races, and get back up to third in the championship. The competition will be tough, but we have the capability."
