Lucky Strike B·A·R Honda concluded a three-day test at the Jerez circuit in Southern Spain this week with third driver Anthony Davidson and test driver Enrique Bernoldi. Testing conditions have been perfect for the three-day test with warm and sunny weather enabling the entire test programme to be completed to plan. It was a productive test for the team with positive results achieved on 2005 development work before the testing break which lasts until the end of November.

Enrique began the driving duties on Day One (Tuesday) and used his early runs to familiarise himself with both the car and the circuit. He spent the remainder of the day conducting aerodynamic and engine evaluations. Enrique's final lap tally for the day was 73 laps, setting a time of 1:18.607.

On the morning of Day Two (Wednesday), Enrique again used the early runs to improve the set-up and find a good balance on the car. He then ran through an intensive tyre evaluation on various 2005 tyres. Enrique completed an impressive total of 135 laps for the day, setting a time of 1:19.406.

Day Three (Thursday) saw Anthony join the test to take over from Enrique in chassis 006-01. He spent the majority of the day doing long runs to evaluate the best of yesterday's tyres. He also ran through a brake evaluation test, front suspension work and a Honda engine development programme. Anthony completed a total of 103 laps for the day, setting a time of 1:18.828.

Enrique Bernoldi: "We have had a very good test in Jerez and I covered a lot of kilometres during the two days that I was involved. We did some development work and it was interesting for me to begin to understand how the car will work with the regulations for next year. Although this made us slower, the test gave valuable data and we were happy to complete the full programme. Generally I am pleased with the results from my second full test and am looking forward to going back to Brazil next weekend and being involved in some PR activity with the team."

Anthony Davidson: "It has been a productive day in Jerez with the usual good weather meaning that we have been able to go through the scheduled test programme with no concerns. I joined the team today to take over the driving responsibilities from Enrique and completed 103 laps. We mainly focused on long tyre runs evaluating various tyres for 2005 plus further development work, and overall I am very pleased with the results of today's running."

Andrew Alsworth, Test Team Manager: "We've completed a very useful three-day test here in Jerez this week in near perfect weather conditions. Enrique carried out the bulk of the running in chassis 006-01 completing an intensive tyre test while running through various aerodynamic configurations. Anthony joined us for the final day concentrating on a similar but shorter programme, supplying the engineers with useful data. We completed a total of 311 laps covering 1440 kilometres. On a personal note I would like to thank the whole of the test team at B·A·R, Honda and Michelin for all their hard work throughout the 2004 season. Their support and professionalism have been invaluable in helping the team to achieve its goals for the year. We now look forward to a well-earned break before concentrating on an intensive winter test programme."

Mark Ellis, Chief Test Engineer: "Our focus this week has been mainly on 2005 developments in order to gain invaluable information ahead of the test break and the start of our winter programme. The test has been extremely productive, despite only bringing one chassis to Jerez. We have covered many mechanical developments for next year's car and gained a useful insight to the challenges we will be facing with the proposed regulations. This is the last test of what has been a very intensive programme for 2004 which started back in November last year. The continued hard work put in by the test team and our partners Honda and Michelin has been an enormous contribution to our success this year."
