Speaking at an awards ceremony in London, former F1 driver turned commentator Martin Brundle confirmed that he will form part of BBC's broadcasting team when it takes over coverage of the sport next year.

Ever since Pitpass exclusively revealed the BBC's line-up, Brundle, along with several others named, including David Coulthard, have either denied the deal was done or remained silent, however, at the Autocar Awards at London's Royal Horticultural Hall, the Englishman finally let the cat out of the basket.

"I'm delighted to be able to tell you all that I'll be joining the BBC next year," he told the audience. "I've been commentating on F1 for the past twelve years, and I briefly considered calling it a day. However, in the end I decided to take up the BBC's offer and I'm now very excited about working for them next year."

The BBC itself continues to remain silent on the issue, with some claming that the British state broadcaster will time the announcement of its line-up to coincide with the Sports Personality of the Year Awards next month, when Lewis Hamilton is considered one of the favourites.

In September, Pitpass revealed that Brundle would join David Coulthard, Jonathan Legard, Lee McKenzie, and Jake Humphrey on the BBC team.
