Fernando Alonso is almost certainly the star attraction at the Thursday Press Conference at Paul Ricard tomorrow ahead of this weekend's French Grand Prix.

Fresh from his win at Le Mans, the Spaniard will join local heroes Romain Grosjean, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon.

Grosjean previously raced at the French track in 2010 in GT, while Gasly has won there in F4, Renault 2 litre and taken pole in the 3.5 category, going on to finish second.

"It's a circuit where I have always gone well," says the Toro Rosso driver, "either winning or at least getting on the podium."

Ocon raced at the track early in his racing career: "It was actually where I had my first victory in single seaters in 2013," reveals the Force India driver, "so I have some fantastic memories of the place."

Though the most experienced of the four, now in his 17th season, Alonso's experience of the French track is limited to F1 testing.

Friday's press conference should also be interesting, with Christian Horner sitting alongside Renault's Cyril Abiteboul just days after Red Bull opted to switch to Honda power for 2019.

While Frederic Vasseur is sure to be keen to talk about the progress being made by Sauber, Eric Boullier will no doubt have to fend off questions about the lack of progress at McLaren and talk of unrest at the team’s Woking HQ.
