There are some interesting differences of opinion over tyre choices for the forthcoming Chinese Grand Prix, with Ferrari clearly going aggressive.

Like Williams, Haas and McLaren, the Maranello outfit is taking 8 sets of the ultrasoft rubber to Shanghai, the third race of the season. On the other hand, Mercedes and Force India take just 6 sets, the remainder opting for 7.

Though the Ferrari pair take 3 sets of the softs, as do Magnussen and Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton takes 6 sets of the yellow-banded rubber and his Mercedes teammate 5.

Brendon Hartley also takes 5 sets of softs while most others take 4.

Though the Force India duo take 3 pairs of the mediums, as does Leclerc, Hamilton is one of six drivers taking just one set of the white-banded tyres.

Last year's race was won by Lewis Hamilton who was on a two-stop strategy. The Briton started the race on Inters before stopping for a set of new softs and subsequently stopping again for another new set of the yellow-banded rubber.

The next five drivers all started the race on Inters subsequently following Hamilton's example of stopping twice, some for softs and others for supersofts. Seventh placed Carlos Sainz started the race on supersofts – the only driver to start on slicks - before changing to softs during his sole stop of the race.
