Haas to try alternative brake supplier in back-to-back test at Interlagos.

With brake failures stretching from last week's United States Grand Prix right back to Bahrain, costing the team at least 5 DNFs, Haas is to try an alternative brake supplier in Brazil next month.

As current supplier Brembo continues its investigation into the latest failure, team boss Guenther Steiner has confirmed that the team will try Carbone Industrie brakes at Interlagos.

Following last week's failure for Esteban Gutierrez, the team has tried an alternative brake pad and disc material from Brembo this weekend, however at Interlagos next month the team will run one of its cars in the Friday sessions with brakes supplied by the Italian manufacturer and the other with brakes supplied by Carbone Industrie. A decision will then be taken on which brakes to run for the remainder of the weekend.

"We are testing a different material because we have to also back-to-back for next year, to see what the materials are doing," said Steiner. "So then we will see what the outcome is."

While there were no brake related issues on Friday, instead Romain Grosjean suffering electrical issues, teammate Gutierrez admitted that it is still early days.

"They feel better than Austin, they are reinforced," he told reporters. "But let's see in the race. Hopefully it doesn't break.

"It is not a great feeling to go in the car and know that probably the brakes will fail, especially here where we are reaching 360km/h," he added. "So we need to really be quite close on that, be aware of that and everything that is going on in the car to not take any risk."
