NEWS STORY

The Sauber F1 Team was able to go through the planned programme in both practice sessions ahead of the German Grand Prix. However, it was not a trouble-free day at the Hockenheimring. Felipe Nasr had issues with the driveability and handling of the Sauber C35-Ferrari, whereas Marcus Ericsson had a fuel pump issue at the end of FP2. In FP1 the Sauber F1 Team continued with the aero tests on both Sauber C35-Ferrari. In the afternoon the focus was on race preparation, with short and long runs on soft and supersoft tyres.

Marcus Ericsson: "It's been a decent Friday. I was able to run a good amount of laps in both sessions. We tried the new rear wing again in FP1, and finally see the numbers we want to. We will continue with our indepth analysis, but it seems to be a step forward. We also plan to keep this rear wing for the rest of this weekend, which is a positive sign. Let's see where we stand tomorrow."

Felipe Nasr: "It was a difficult day for me. I did not feel comfortable in the car. The handling as well as the driveability of the car is quite weak at the moment. We were not able to get the tyres to work properly, likewise with the set-up of the car. We will look into different areas of the car to understand where the issues come from. We need to sort it out for the rest of the weekend."
