Fernando Alonso topped the timesheets as the teams broke for lunch on the first day of the Silverstone test.

While Esteban Ocon had topped the timesheets for the first couple of hours, a 1:31.290 put eventually put the Spaniard top.

Between them the 11 drivers on duty have completed 475 laps, though Red Bull's Pierre Gasly has spent much of the morning in the garage having run two laps at the start of the session trialling the Austrian team's version of the Halo device.

Ocon has been busiest thus far, completing 80 laps, with Carlos Sainz on 77.

Pascal Wehrlein - who on the official timing screens is referred to as 'Pirelli' is driving the 2014 Mercedes as he tests 2017 development prototype tyres - in terms of construction and compound - in current dimensions.

While Charles Leclerc made his F1 debut last Friday with Haas, two other newbies Nikita Mazepin (pictured) and Santino Ferrucci are getting their first taste today.

Despite the lack of F1 experience of several of the drivers on duty, there have been no stoppages.
