In a bold move, Haas has opted to forgo the red-banded supersoft tyre at the forthcoming Canadian Grand Prix, and along with 3 sets of softs will take 10 sets of the new purple-banded ultrasoft.

Renault is also giving the supersofts a miss, instead taking 5 sets of the soft and 8 sets of ultras.

Elsewhere, Mercedes, which put the ultrasofts to good use in Monaco at the weekend, Lewis Hamilton taking victory on the purple-banded rubber, is taking 8 sets to Montreal and 2 sets of supersofts.

Ferrari and Red Bull have adopted a similar strategy to Mercedes, though taking one set of ultrasofts less than the German team.

On the other hand, Force India, known for its canny tyre strategy, is taking an interesting mix of 6 ultra, 3 supersoft and 4 soft.

Interestingly, the Williams duo are the only drivers to choose different sets, both taking 7 sets of ultras both opting to differ in terms of softs and supersofts.
