Pirelli will take the hard, medium and soft compounds to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix in May.

One set of hard and one set of medium must be used at some point in the race.

Each driver must also save for Q3 one set of the yellow-banded soft tyres. This set will be given back to Pirelli after Q3 for those who qualify in the top 8, but the remaining drivers will keep it for the race – as is the case currently.

The teams are free to choose the remaining 10 sets; making up 13 sets in total for the weekend.

Whilst the quickest time posted during pre-season testing was on the ultrasoft rubber, by Kimi Raikkonen, it was the Finn who posted the best time on the soft compound that will be used in the Grand Prix.

Intriguingly, his best time on the softs (1:23.009), was 0.013s quicker than the fastest time posted by a Mercedes over the course of the test, Nico Rosberg, who was also on the soft.
