Red Bull has revealed its 2016 livery in London

Days ahead of the unveiling of its 2016 car, the Austrian outfit unveiled its new livery in the suitably trendy Brick Lane area of East London.

The unveiling, which also marked the beginning of a new long-term partnership with sports and leisurewear giants Puma, was attended by drivers Daniel Ricciardo, Daniil Kvyat and team boss Christian Horner.

"I think I needed to grow a bigger beard and come on a bicycle," joked Horner, in an obvious reference to the 'hipster' reputation of the location of the unveiling.

"It a sign of a new beginning from us," he continued, the team having lost former title sponsor Infiniti, but gained watch manufacturer Tag Heuer, whose name will adorn the Renault engines in the back of the cars. "Over the years we evolved a certain look but with the clean sheet of paper we had this time we decided to do something very different.

"It's innovative and aggressive," he continued. "I think it will stand out on the grid and hopefully it will stand out in the mirrors of a few other cars. It looks right and things that look good tend to go well, so hopefully we'll see that on track."

Asked how prepared his drivers are for the new season, Horner laughed and said the pair had done "bugger all" during the winter, to which the drivers had little response.

"You do train a lot," said Ricciardo, "but, yeah, there is a bit of a wait between the end of a season and Melbourne, so now I'm just hanging out to go racing again.

"The car looks amazing," added the Australian. "Normally drivers are more concerned with how it actually performs but looking at this I think it should be good."

In what was very much a PR occasion (for Puma), proceedings were a little bit awkward at times, however, both drivers ticked the relevant boxes.

The RB12 will be unveiled in Barcelona on Monday morning, ahead of the opening day of pre-season testing, along with a number of other contenders.
