Ferrari's much anticipated 2016 contender will be unveiled to the world on Friday at 14:00 (CET).

Having finished runner-up to Mercedes, albeit 275 points adrift of the German team, in 2015, fans, indeed the sport, is hoping for a significant step forward this season.

Although there are precious few rule changes, certainly in terms of the aero regulations, a number of modifications to the engine are aimed at helping the Maranello outfit take on its German rivals.

Another predicted change, which should be confirmed on Friday, should see the team return to a livery similar to that run in 1975 when Niki Lauda took the first of his (three titles). That year's 312T ran a significant amount of white alongside the traditional red.

However, some are concerned that the team ran a similar livery in 1993, possibly one of the worst seasons in the Maranello outfit's history, when between them Gerhard Berger and Jean Alesi could only manage 28 points, finishing fourth in the constructors' Championship, 140 points adrift of champions Williams.

As a teaser, on Friday released a short video having fired up the 2016 engine for the first time.
