Unsurprisingly, Valtteri Bottas was the centre of media attention as the Hungarian GP weekend got underway.

Last week, Corriere dello Sport claimed that Ferrari has paid Williams €12m (£8.3m) to release the Finn from his current contract which runs out at the end of 2016. The Maranello outfit's option on Kimi Raikkonen for 2016 running out at the end of this month.

The story moved his manager Didier Coton to take to Twitter, where he wrote: "Man, what a morning! The heat wave has reached lots of countries especially Italy. Let's turn on the air conditioning and keep cool."

However, this was the first opportunity for the media to question Bottas.

"There is nothing new to tell you since I was asked last time," he told reporters, "although obviously there are a lot of rumours.

"I don't know, nothing is confirmed," he said, when asked if he would be staying with Williams, "we will have to wait and see.

"As a driver you want your future sorted as soon as possible," he added, "but sometimes you need to wait and see, that is life. We will tell you when there is something to tell about - I don't know where the rumours have come from."
