Officials in Barcelona have deemed that no further action is required following incident late in today's race.

Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz were hauled before the stewards following today's race after an incident in which the pair battled heading into T1. As Kvyat weaved in an attempt to hold off Sainz, he touched the Toro Rosso which subsequently ran wide exiting the corner ahead of the Red Bull, thereby seemingly gaining an advantage.

In relation to the alleged breach of Article 20.3 the stewards accepted the statement of Kvyat, the concurrence of Sainz and confirmation from the video evidence, that the first two moves were not defensive and that only the third move was defensive.

In relation to the alleged breach of Article 16.1 - causing a collision - the stewards agreed with the drivers and team representatives that this was a racing incident.

In relation to the alleged breach of Article 20.2 - leaving the track and gaining an advantage - the stewards considered that Sainz was in front at the time he entered the corner and accept the evidence of that he slowed in re-joining the track at Turn 2 and gave room at Turn 3 for Kvyat in order to avoid gaining a lasting advantage.

Kvyat also admitted that he slowed at Turn 2 and gave room for Sainz to re-join the track.
