Manor's amazing come-back continues as the team reveals that it has passed the mandatory FIA crash test.

Whilst the team has yet to confirm its second driver, its livery, and many (like Pitpass) still don't know whether to refer to it as Manor or Marussia, the Dinnington-based outfit has confirmed that another important hurdle has been crossed.

"Our big news of today is that we have now passed the FIA crash tests," tweeted the team this afternoon. "Well done team! That's it - we're all set for Melbourne!"

The Ferrari powered car, which initially will be the 2014 Marussia fully updated to 2015 regulations, before a full 2015 car is subsequently launched, will be driven by Will Stevens and A N Other in the season opener weeks after many had given the British outfit up for dead.

However, courtesy of investment from Ovo Energy boss Stephen Fitzpatrick, the popular Yorkshire-based team lives to fight another day.

Ironically, throughout the course of the day, former rivals Caterham, who late last year looked to be the better prospect in terms of survival, has been tweeting pictures of items of equipment up for auction. A few weeks back, Manor/Marussia looked destined to suffer exactly the same fate.
