In its latest update on the condition of Jules Bianchi, following his accident during the Japanese GP, the FIA advises that the French youngster is in a "serious but stable condition".

While Marussia has called for understanding and patience, especially in these early days of his treatment, when contacted, Matteo Bonciani, the FIA's F1 Head of Communications & Media Delegate, said: "Bianchi is in a serious but stable condition. That's all I can say, and I'm doing this update on Jules' parents' behalf."

Bianchi's parents, Philippe and Christine, have arrived in Japan and are now with their son at the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi.

Bonciani also revealed that Professor Gerard Saillant, President of the FIA Institute, and who has been involved in sport for over twenty years, operating on some of the top athletes in the world, especially in football and motor racing, and who oversaw Michael Schumacher's treatment following his skiing accident in December, is also on route to Japan together with Nicolas Todt, Bianchi's manager.
