Another penalty for Gutierrez

Esteban Gutierrez has been handed a grid penalty for the second successive race.

The Mexican, who was awarded a ten-place grid penalty for this weekend's British Grand Prix for his unsafe release during the previous race in Austria, takes three-place penalty to Germany in two weeks time.

The Sauber driver was involved in a clash with Pastor Maldonado during today's race, forcing the Venezuelan's car into the air. Amazingly, the Lotus driver was able to continue while Gutierrez retired almost immediately.

In their post-race investigation of the incident, during which they spoke to both drivers, their team representatives and studied video evidence, the Stewards determined that Gutierrez was "predominantly at fault, causing a collision at Turn 16 between him and the Driver of Car 13 (Maldonado)", as defined by Article 16.1 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.

"After the restart I was fighting with Pastor," said the Mexican. "When I tried to overtake him in turn 16 he braked and did not leave me enough space. I was already beside him and could not avoid a collision with him. I feel very sorry for the team, as this is not the way a race should end."
